Small family camp in unique and stunning coastal, rural location. Fantastic views, 3min walk to sandy surf beach popular for swimming,surfcasting or diving. Abundant bird life, great walking tracks nearby, through bush, or along the coast. Easy drive to other DOC tracks off SH2. Turn off SH2 into scenic Tangoio Road then into Waipatiki Road. Qualmark 4 Star Holiday Park.

Loved the animals. A white duck, black feathered chicken and poodle were regular visitors. The cattle were intimidating at first but turned out to be quite docile. The ablution block next door was meticulously cleaned. The female owner was professional but not overtly friendly. Had to wait over an hour to have a shower on last day due to the camp ground being full to bursting. Enjoyed my stay.

Nice sheltered camping spot with great river and small lagoon for kids. Beach is a dumper, so not safe for small kids. Great camping ground with good facilities if you like the back to basics style of camping. Really enjoyed our stay
