Don`t stay here - Colin Hemingway
3rd Jan, 2011

My wife and I stayed here over New Year, having been told by a `trainee` member of staff that we had to stay for four consecutive nights over the New Year. We spent three nights here and saw a range of major and potentially dangerous problems. The campsite double booked the site next to us so people were crammed together (fire hazard with tents being so close to each other?). The most annoying thing was that a couple arrived the day after us and checked out the following day and when we went to reception and complained that they had been allowed to check out it emerged that we did not need to stay for four consecutive nights and this was the error of the new trainee who had complaints made about her already?! the final insult was that we were offered no refund for the extra night we had to stay that we didn`t want to stay and the staff were defensive and stubborn in their positions. The `general manager` did not want to speak to us because he was in a bad mood from having to deal with singing drunk 16/17years olds that his establishment had knowlingly allowed into the park anyway. Other annoyances were the 2 dollar fee for the shower (like $40 a night isn`t enough) and substandard cooking facilities where you have to pay to hire the equipment. My advice? stay well clear.

Great park - Kevin
4th Oct, 2009

We spent three nights at this park and was impressed with the location and facilities in general. A quick 5 minute walk and you are in the town centre of Queenstown, supermarkets and great restaurants.
Kitchen facilites excellent, bathrooms okay, need to pay $1.00 for a shower. On two occasions, i put the money and no hot water. Also, you need special tokens for the waching machines/dryers which need to payed for at the reception. This involves walking all the way to the reception, joining a queue and finally swopping your $$`s for a token ( 15 min process). Seems a little backward, stick a $$`s token machine in the laundry and let campers get on with camping instead of queuing up for washing machines and tokens !!!
