Pohara Beach is located a few minutes drive east of Takaka, and consists of the Pohara Beach Top 10 Holiday Park, a restaurant / cafe and a shop. It's a long, sweeping, beautiful beach and is safe for swimming.

The Pohara Beach Top 10 is right on the beach, with only a line of trees to separate the camping sites from the sand itself. The site is quite large, with lots of pleasant shady powered and unpowered sites, and a good number of modern, well equipped cabins. The sites are all close to one of several facilities blocks, which contain excellent kitchens, toilet and shower areas. There is also a pleasant internet / TV room, and the site has good wireles internet access.

Being right next to the beach, combined with the top class facilities, spacious sites and lots of picnic benches, makes this feel like a genuinely holiday-like park. The atmosphere is excellent, and being far from any towns makes it a very quiet, relaxed stay.

Pohara Top 10 Holiday Park would make a great base for exploring the rest of the Golden Bay and Abel Tasman National Park, and many activities can be arranged from the onsite office. A wonderful site with a lovely atmosphere that would suit families and kids, and it worth a visit.
