Russell - Orongo Bay Holiday Park

Our initial impressions were positive- a friendly welcome, freshly painted facilities ,a pool and kids playground, sites with trees for shade, etc. However we had hot water only once in the kitchen our entire stay, and the water supply overall was variable with a couple of days of NO water. There were problems with many things like washing machine, fridge etc. it is a shame the owners didn`t respond more positively to find solutions for the problems quickly - buy in water and extra gas etc. There are also some very weird permanent residents in cabins.... This place has potential to be a great secluded spot for camping , or maybe even group trips - if the services and day to day running were improved to an adequate standard. In the meantime, we are unlikely to go back...
