Ohope Beach Top 10 Holiday Park

Arrived in dark - office closed - sign on door said go find suitable site. That wasn`t easy for our large motorhome - nearly got stuck as campsites are just sand.

They give no discount to NZMCA members.

Toilets and showers are very dated and cramped. No place to keep clothes dry while you shower.

Most expensive Top10 we have stayed at with worst facilities.

People have really raved to us about this camp. We arrived there on 27th of December. The camp itself is great, however they had packed in so many people that you had to wait in a queue every time you needed to use the toilet or shower. The facilities were dirty - many due to the high usage (but they could have been cleaned more often in that case). Showers were timed for 5 minutes - which is normally ok, but the water dribbled out, so we were caught short a couple of times, and ended up rinsing in cold water. We could hardly get in to use the kitchen. Lots of people all trying to cook and do dishes in a tiny space, and the same thing trying to do any laundry. The pool is great! However, no one `official` keeps an eye out on it - so tons of teens doing bombs, running around the pool playing tag, and doing dangerous maneuvers on the slides. Being in the pool turned into a matter of survival rather than a relaxing swim. I would think that at a quieter time of year, this camp would be very pleasant - however, facilities strained to cope with the xmas/new year crowd.

What a time! OMG!!!!! Will go every year until the end of time, so much fun, the people, amazingly awsome. The swimming, dont even start me on that. WOW, I mean WOW!

we came here with our 2 kids for 2 nights, it was an awesome stay especially for the kids loved the facilities offered such as pools, mini golf, bball hoop, bmx track. we were right by the beach skip and jump to the ocean. showers/toilets were great, perhaps could have more bbq`s to offer and bigger kitchen? and maybe the staff could do with a smile. this was a major downfall for me was customer service perhaps staff should do kiwihost. Other than that it was a great stay.
