Motueka has grown in recent years to become a hub for visitors to the Abel Tasman National Park. With a range of funky shops and cafes, as well as an excellent bakery (the Rolling Pin's pies are fantastic), Motueka is a decent visit. It's also possible to book all sorts of activities around Abel Tasman from here, and for many it's a great base for hiking, sky diving, boat trips and horse riding trips.

The Motueka Top 10 is located a short walk from the north end of Motueka. Take a right about 1km after the town if arriving from the Nelson direction. The site is festooned with an array beautiful trees, many of which carry signs detailing their make and model; very helpful considering my arboreal ignorance. There is also all the extras you could expect from a Top 10, including a car wash area, jumping pillow, an open air pool, a spa, a range of modern and well equipped cabins, and plenty of perfectly presented powered sites.

There are several ablution blocks across the camp, which include modern well equipped kitchens, toilets and showers. The kicthens also feature coffee machines and an outdoor awning area with gar powered BBQ. The camp site itself is set back a bit from the main road out of Motueka, which helps keep it quiet at night.

The site is vibrant and understandably packed during the summer months. However, the site is well managed and beautifully presented, and makes for a very pleasant base during a visit to the Abel Tasman area. A host of activities can be arranged from the site office, and the site offers both internet kiosks and a good solid wireless signal across the camp.

With Motueka becoming more popular a destination, the Motueka Top 10 is a worthwhile visit and a wonderfully presented park. Suitable for families and those looking for something a bit special.
