We opened Martinborough Village Camping in November 2005 after spending months planning and creating the kind of campground that we would like to stay at. We have built all new, high quality, bathroom, kitchen and laundry facilities whilst deliberately keeping the camp small to create a friendly, relaxed atmosphere.

If location is key then we couldn't have picked a better spot. Set amongst vineyards with views to the Tararua ranges and Martinborough hills, it is an easy walk to numerous wineries and the shops, cafe's and restaurants of the town centre. Martinborough is the perfect base to step off the tourist trail and explore rugged and remote South Wairarapa. Come and visit and we'll do all we can to make sure you enjoy your stay.

We enjoyed 5 nights in Autumn in the Queen cabin. Although the bed was firm we slept ok. The cabin was tiny but suited us as we did not have a lot of gear. Could have been a bit bigger. We took our bikes with us & Frank & Lisa stored them in the locked shed for us overnight. Biking to the wineries was a breeze - it`s all really flat. We had lovely sunny days and the scenary was beautiful. We enjoyed the wine tasting and dining in the gardens by the vines at many of the wineries. What we saved on accomodation we spent on the wine!!

Kitchen and bathroom facilities were modern, clean and tidy and more than adequate. Shower was on gas so the blast got us going in the mornings! No TV but then we just went to bed & read! We had a great time and would return with the tent in summer.

Stayed here for a few days at Christmas 06 and really enjoyed it. Beautiful location, friendly helpful people, and a great atmosphere. Definitely recommended!
