Common consensus among the fellow campers was that this was an overpriced campsite with maintenance issues.

Whilst 2 new ablution blocks have been built, they were on other side of camp where we were situated so we did not have the need to use them regularly but we did check them out.

Sorry you felt buildings weren`t up to your standard. Some people enjoy the rustic camping experience. And money does not grow on trees to be able to replace buildings as they date. We consider the experience of just being at Mahia enjoying a holiday is well worth the journey even if you don`t stay with us. Don`t let the last review put you off coming to Mahia. I have thousands of happy campers who come back year after year. Camping is an experience every kid should have and you can go ultra modern and high tech or rustic and old fashioned. Its the time spent with family friends and your children that is more important than a coat of paint or a modern building. New toilet block fine but old one needs demolishing. Kitchen and old toilet block clean but very run down. Same for games/tv room and cabin. Much better accomodation elsewhere for same price. Shame - cause lovely lady greeted us.
