Golden Springs Holiday Park

It`s listed as conveniently located on SH-5, but what they don`t tell you is that you are practically sleeping on SH-5. The campsites are way too close to the road, which is high traffic, and lacks any significant sound barrier. We could feel the ground shake as the trucks rolled by. The property just across the road had no problem starting band rehearsal at 2:30 in the morning our first night stay and the 2nd we were treated to the constant irritating thump and squeal of the broken water wheel near the flying fox. If you have to camp here, request Camp20 since it seems most secluded.

Stumbled across this little gem on our familys trip round nz .Really enjoyed our stay as Hans and Valerie were so friendly. We stayed in August and would love to see how great it is in the summer. Lovely food and a great spot to plot up and see all that the central plateau has to offer. Great fishing to be had and in no time you are in either Taupo or Rotarua which again are well worth a visit.

Great place to stay. Could do with a high sound proof fence by camping ground but mostly it`s fantastic. Kids absolutely loved it and have pleaded with me many times to go back there. Great pool/thermal river, walkway etc. Really really enjoyed our stay.

Excellent location well within reach of both Taupo and Rotorua and tourist spots between. Nice welcom on arrival and facilities were good - buildings older and clean. A large site with lots of extra`s such as the glade walk, thermal stream and bathing pools, and happy people. Nice for families and good close to trout fishing spots, lakes and the Waikato River. Also has a dairy next door.
