Our picturesque Holiday Park, 300m from the town centre offers a friendly and inviting atmosphere to the traveller or holidaymaker. We are the ideal base for fishing the nearby lakes and rivers, summer fun at Lake Opuha or winter sports on the Mt Dobson or Fox Peak ski fields.
Fairlie is a small crossroads town with a population of about 600, a fair number of which would probably be staying at the decent sized Fairlie Top 10 Holiday Park. Recently taken over by new management, the park is quite popular with Kiwis and visitors stopping the night on their way to Mackenzie Country or towards Christchurch.
While the town is not devoid of things to do, it is a pretty basic place. It has a few shops, and a nice statue of local hero James McKenzie, and a riverside walk along the Fairlie Walkway. The Fairlie Top 10 is located a couple of minutes stroll from the shops, and has a little creek running through it, which apparently is home to some devious trout. The site is one of a select few in New Zealand that offer free internet access, which can be accessed through wireless.
The facilities are solid enough, but not up to quite the standard of many Top 10 parks. The kitchen is clean, if basic, and includes an outdoor BBQ / picnic table area. A stereo system brings music into the toilets, which are also clean if a little cramped.
There's not a lot to Fairlie, but the park is a decent stopover. As long as the weather permits, people seem inclined to sit outside their vans and there is a fun atmosphere to the park. Overall, it's a solid enough stopover, even if it feels more like a funky independent site than a Top 10.
