Spend your days just lazing on the magnificent beach, or enjoy the many water activities that Pilot Bay has to offer.

A holiday at the Mount would not be complete without taking a leisurelywalk around the mountain the famous 'Mauao' or alternatively, take inthe breathtaking views of the Bay from the summit.

We camped here in our tent and do agree that the showers are stupid.
Also it felt very crowded at times but the view made up for it

Right by the beach, the aptly named Beachside Holiday Park is very nicely located. It is also right next to the Mount, which is a superb walk, and very close to some shops, cafes and restaurants.
The facilities are modern and clean, and while the showers are a bit stupid, they are free and not metered, which is nice.
It`s $30 for two on a powered site in off-season, which is great value as Maunganui is worth visiting at any time of the year.

We stayed here in our tent ($34 ).
No proper tent sites as such. It felt more like rough camping along a public stretch of beach.
Great location though.
