We have had a week at beachside 2 summers in a row.. we use a contionental cabin and an adjasent tent site.. great.. good facilities.. good toilets/bathroom.. plus they Do NOT charge for showers!!! nothing flash..but heck im camping.. if i wanted to pay more for tvs computers etc etc i would go to a motel or just stay at home

Won`t be going back - Camping Family
9th Apr, 2009

Handy location, and looks nice when the tide is in but you still can`t really swim there. To be fair, I found the facilities to be clean and tidy but I expect a little more than just that... I`ve never experienced worse customer service! There`s plenty of other camp grounds in the bay of islands, my advise is \"find one of those\".

Beachside Holiday Park - Dubbya H See
26th Jan, 2009

Just spent 9 nights here. While the site is in an awesome location, the camp site owner is less than welcoming - in fact, he`s down right grumpy. The toilets are not frequently cleaned, and frankly, they stink. There is no security gates on site, so the locals turned up on more than one occasion at all hours of the day and night, which created a real safety and security concern - and when this was raised with them, the manager was less than interested. One camper had a tree fall on his tent, and the owner was less than happy about fixing the tree and had the nuts to have a crack at the camper as if it were his fault the tree fell down. The bay itself is very dirty at low tide, and I would be very careful about walking out there with no shoes/footwear on. As long as you stay out of the way of the owner you should have a good stay, but take your own disinfectant for the toilets and lock your tents.
